I love this a lot. AJ is setup for failure on the 4th line....but he hasn't jumped out in his time to bring any more value than those above. I don't want to play someone up in the lineup just because they make more money.

If the Devils could upgrade for the extra D on waivers, great. Jaros is a real emergency fill in guy. Also likely sign Vesey or someone on PTO to fill a spot rather than sitting Foote or someone like that.

It is my belief that Mercer makes the team as 3C or goes to AHL as 1C.
Don't think he is even auditioning for the part of 3RW.

But could just do Zacha - Mercer - Kuokkanen for that line.
And Jankowski or Vesey may beat out Johnsson for 4th line.
