Rask is still a better option than Bjugstad, Gaudreau, Pitlick, Rau, and Duhaime at the very least. If you move him, one of those is going to be the new, worse version of Rask.

I know it's fun to hate Rask, but let's just keep him until we actually have better options.

Colin White is also injured and the Sens probably could have used him even before that. No real risk for either side.

As cynical as it is to say you won’t bench him or send him down due to his salary, that’s a real consideration for the team. It’s also the right thing to do by the player given he’s in his contract year.

Who are you referring to? Rask is probably the 10th best forward on the team. He may sit a game here and there so other guys can stay in practice, but he's not going to be waived or benched unless he really screws up, and we're not hard up for cap space, so why would that factor in to any decision this season?

I am talking about Rask. I also agree that he’s probably the 10th best forward on the team as well. But if his preseason deployment on the wing is an indication of where he’ll play then it really sounds like he’s just filling space due to his contract. We can replace a 4th line forward easily and if Rask has the ability to play C in OTT, that means a whole lot more to him than him playing on the wing does for MIN. I do think that doing right by the player and giving him the opportunity is the right thing to do, and BG has done that often.
