    It was obvious Mennell wasn't signing with Minni and he would have a UFA August 1st. I don't know if the Wild or any team should claim him on waivers. He hasn't shown he is NHL capable. And when claiming a player on waivers he has to stay on your NHL lineup.

    That was the GM not giving him the contract/chance he wanted. MN gave him a QO so it was either sign with them or go back to the KHL. MN still had his rights so he wouldn't have been a UFA.

    None of the rest of MN's 3RD has done anything good and have been mostly bad. He knows MN's systems and Kulikov can babysit him.

    If he's in the AHL in TOR they won't get that pick anyways.

    You wouldn’t even get that 7th, it has conditions. Menell needs to play at least 30 games with the Leafs for that pick to transfer. Pick him up on waivers or not, Menell isn’t playing 30 plus games with the Leafs this year
