The Leafs are done! I'm currently writing this and the Leafs are already losing 2-0 to the 0-5-1 Disgraced Chicago Blackhawks team. There is no going back at this venture if they lose because this experiment has failed mightily. Dubas will be out the door tomorrow morning then comes who his eventual replacement is going to be and Keefe might be out the door as well because he has lost the ears of the players. These trade scenarios might not be reasonable by any means but for the love of christ something needs to change here because this team is on year 6 of the Shanaplan and some of them are just mentally not there but here we go on my opinion on what this team should do.
also whom I believe will be the eventual Head Coach and GM replacements for this team
Potential Gm Replacements
- Jim Rutherford
- Bob Gainey
- Darcy Regier
- Garth Snow
- Jason Botterill
- Joe Nieuwendyk
- Dean Lombardi ***
Potential Head Coach Replacements:
- Bruce Boudreau
- Rick Tocchet
- Kirk Mueller
- Guy Boucher
- John Tortorella ***
I prefer this team build don't at me please the Leafs are hurting my heart.....
Leafs are actually the losers of this trade in the moment because they lose any trades where they don't accumulate draft capital but this trade does something that the Leafs might need? a Soft roster reset by giving them cap to either make FA signings the next year or giving them Cap Space now so that they can weaponize it for picks at the deadline. Subban's contract is gone at the end of the season so 9 million comes off the books in Toronto. Miles Wood who is a great hardworking winger is on his last year as well but can be resigned as an RFA. Leafs don't have any great goalie prospects in the pipeline and Nico Daws is a great prospect that they didn't draft like a bunch of idiots so it gives them something to work with?
Leafs again lose by taking on bad contracts and lose a prospect or two but they gain cap space for a soft roster reset but they gain great roster depth.
these might literally be the worst trades I have ever seen.
my 3 year old cousin could do better.
The entire point of the desc was to say they were unreasonable that's the point but Marner's value and the value of all the Leafs players have dropped to the point where it's going to be extremely difficult to trade them without losing the trade deal. Marner, Kerfoot and Rielly are the only realistic players I can see being moved. Holl seems unlikely but he might be another option as well
