Pens don't have the cap space for that move. They're currently over the cap if you put Geno back in the lineup and will have to make a move or two when he comes back, so while the money changing hands currently works, it won't for when Geno returns.

Fleury=7M. Gaudette=997k. 7.997M going to Pittsburgh in two players.

8.75M going to Chicago in three players.

Chicago might not have room for it now, but the other moves clear space for them, and I think wing is a bigger area of need for them than hot/cold playoff star goalie in a funk.

With the Pens current lineup if Geno came back to today they'd be over the cap by nearly $3M. They'll be able to send a few players down without risk, but still need to clear out salary.
