Description
Jersey has cash and picks. They use both to move players out for better assets coming in. Silf move is a dream I know, so relax (it will be Vermette/Bieksa). Others are just ways to work around Vegas coming in. They take Emelin contract to help with signing Rad and give up our Capt and Cams at 50% for young blood. Henrique becomes new Capt. This team is younger, faster, with more defensive minded Fs
I then went crazy and picked guys I really want but know it won't happen. I picked one of the C's available at the draft. But I would keep top 3. From 4 down I would take offers if anyone had something to trade.

Looking back, both of the Vegas 3rd rounders should probably be 2nds (Brodin move for sure)

If Vegas can select Brodin there's no way they trade him. He'll instantly become the teams best defenseman and probably their future no. 1 defenseman.

If you want to capitalize on the Expansion draft I suggest going to teams before the players are selected

I completely agree, I just don't see those teams moving a player and then exposing a player (ex. Minny trades JB to jersey, and then exposes Scan/Dumba) why would they do this?
And yes JB does become best D man, I added a post above that those trades should be 2nds not 3rds for that reason. With the cash and picks I thought is was easiest way to climb out of the hole. Maybe sweeten the deals? But I see what you mean

EDIT: The other way, as you suggested, was to go to the teams prior. Devs go to Minny pre-expansion and offer the lower of our 2017 2nd's (minny has no picks in first 2 rds this yr), maybe a '18 3rd, a replacement d man to loose (Prout) and a exempt player from our roster (RD man Josh Jacobs or LW Blandisi) . Not sure if that is better or worse

If you have reading any posts, you will know that Las Vegas will have no problem reaching the cap floor. with their 30 selections they only to draft 43 m worth of players. not going above would be a bigger issue. this brodin trade makes no sense. he's a fine dman. teams near the capwouldn't want savard, so trading him to the rangers, what's the value for the rangers?

I was not aware of the $43M, Clowe was merely a throw in, so it does not matter as much. I edited the Brodin trade with a third to second and also suggested a pre-Ex draft move to try and get it done.

As I noted, the Savard trade was just for cap purposes. I picked the team we have never traded with on purpose. Never an intention to trade.
