only trade i have an issue with is the MTL one, Plekanec only has 2 years left and has the potential to be picked by Vegas, i dont think MTL would trade him and the rights to a young D-Man for a 3rd. maybe take out Beaulieu and you could have a trade but i dont think its possible for that trade to go through

Agreed. Not the right time to trade Beaulieu for a pick anyway. If we don't lose a D to Vegas and Sergachev or Juulsen make the jump, then we can consider it, but I'd rather package him for offensive help.

Wiercioch and Soderberg ($1.5M retained) for Beaulieu and Plekanec might be intriguing.
I think the odds of Soderberg helping with Montreal's center conundrum are slim, but I'd rather try him than do nothing. Otherwise, at closer to $3M he isn't breaking the bank as a 3rd line center.
Wiercioch would be a downgrade from Beaulieu, but since you're taking Plekanec, we'll pretend these two are equal.

Is Weircioch really that bad that a second team is going to let him walk as an RFA?
