Description

Marner is an elite playmaker, great penalty killer, great PP specialist, plays a 200ft game and will most likely average over a point per game for the foreseeable future.

I was concerned when he got injured as he has been NOTABLY missing from the PK, PP, etc...BUT other players are stepping up more now as they look to fill in the gaps Marner left. OTOH what has been painfully obvious is the poor skill on the Leaf's blue line if the want to get past Florida, Tampa Bay or Boston in the 1st Round this year.

Making a trade for a downgrade in Forward skill but also cap savings would allow the Leafs to move Holl's $2 MIL, Dermott's $1.5 MIL and gain $4 MIL from trading Marner allowing a $7.5 MIL Defence upgrade without any other cap maneuvering.

What do you all think? Is it time to move on?

No from the Leafs. Ik Marner gets his hate for his cap but when he’s on his game he’s a top 15 player in the league. Plus we would be back to where we started as we need to resign Forsberg
