    Just to rub a little salt in the wound, Toews is outscoring Makar on a per game basis this season. He has been Norris caliber. I still can't believe that trade went down like that.

    Isles could have had 3 Norris caliber defenseman , it was an incredibly stupid trade.

    Isles literally had no leverage at all and Toews had arbitration coming up. They had no choice but to move him since they probably couldn't get offers from Leddy and Ladd. Sucks man, Toews liked it here and he is one helluva defenseman. Missed heavily over here

    Isles are my #2, so the trade was a little bittersweet (mostly sweet, as it's a distant #2).

    Personally I thought it was a poor idea to extend JGP right away. I like him, but if the result is losing Toews then it's no bueno.

    Isles had offers on Leddy , Trotz wanted Leddy over Toews. They had plenty of options to sign Toews
