Description

Our goals for/against ratio is currently +6, the best team is currently +40, second best +29. Our goalies have given up many weak and untimely goals, fleury and smith would have given up at least 18-20 less goals. Making us +24-26 goal differential
Kubalik on top line replacing puljujarvi would be about even .
But RNH to 3C with puljujarvi would GREATLY improve our bottom 6 scoring, also giving us a 3rd line that could go defensively against any other top line, creating the chance for mismatches . Adding yet another 10-15 goals to our goal differential. Putting us right at the top of the league

Hawks gave a 3rd for fleury. We took Keith’s whole contract, this reflects a consideration on that. Fleury only makes 6.0 mil this year. 3500000 retained at the deadline is only 750k in actual money 1.9mil if they did it right now. Not worth anywhere near a 1st round pick. Kubalik is worth more than Lavioe for sure, maybe another pick/prospect . I will add something to make it more tempting . Wouldn’t want to ruin Edmonton’s reputation for losing every trade

Now it’s basically Koskinen, lavoie and Samorukov for Retained Fleury. (Fleury was picked up for a 3rd round pick, without being retained, he’s worth nothing as he probably won’t resign)) And a 1st rounder for Kubalik.

That’s a huge scoring winger prospect, almost ready defensive prospect and a first round pick. They will go a long way rebuilding the Hawks.
