I've long been a supporter of Chytl...but patience with his C play is wearing thin...if NYR are insistent with him staying at C, then maybe it's time to play him with Panarin- if that doesn't get him going, then the decision to move on from him is a lot easier. Right now, though, he might be better suited to playing RW along with Kreider and Zib...I for one am beginning to believe his future as an NHLer is as a wing.
Regarding LaF/Str/Goodrow: this line has been very effective, and seems to bring the best from LaF- no good reason (yet) to break up this line.
Regarding Gaut- his #'s are dismal- but he does seem to be good for a breakaway per game (yeah- only to not score!)...and for all the complaints about his D play- he seems quite often to catch opposing players from behind as they are picking up speed through the neutral zone. I wouldn't dismiss his back checking effort. That all said, until he develops some scoring touch, he belongs in the bottom 6.
