I'm not understanding the Mark Scheifele hate right now with this fan base... He hasn't been great this year like prior seasons, but he hasn't been god awful, can you explain why 55 is a "Plug" so can understand this.. Also, I bet he has a great 2nd half and averages a point per game coming out of the ASB....

Wheeler is not a top 6 anymore… drop him to the 3rd line.
Ehlers has been good with Scheifele, so keep them together.
Svech has been good with PLD and Connor so keep that together.
Re-sign Stastny for 1yr at 2m, and play him as 3LW if not 3C

This is an issue that’s been growing over the past 3 years. Constantly looking disinterested on the ice, putting in poor efforts defensively more than 70% of the time. There are many plays during games where scheifele could’ve or should’ve taken 2-3 extra hard strides to make a defensive play that would’ve taken away an opportunity on goals.

So this isn’t just because he’s underperforming this year, he’s also showing some attitude issues and lack of defensive ability.

In my eyes, Dubois is the 1C at this point. He does everything good, and excels in many areas, while being solid defensively. His chemistry with Connor is undeniable as well and they’re a great pair for the top line. It’s time to move scheifele to RW. But it won’t happen and will only make me like him less lol.

But I also think that the main reason he said “plugs” was because of wheeler. Wheeler has fallen off a cliff and should be on the 3rd or 4th line.
