Description
This Hendricks signing to me is more important than it seems on paper. The Bruins need that bottom 6 veteran who they can slot in and lay out the body, much like Thornton used to. The Bruins went out and got Beleskey and Hayes and Schaller and none of these guys seem to bring that momentum changing one shift that you need from a 4th line. I feel like this will be a factor in their upcoming series against the sens and something the Bruins should address in the offseason.
As for the defence, I think they need to go out and look for that Chara replacement this offseason, a guy who can play big minutes and move the puck but if the deal isn't there then they should wait it out and start the season with an O'Gara type player on that 3rd pair with Chiller. The free agent options are iffy with Karl Alzner being the best fit on the market but I get the sense there will be an over payment for what he is which is simply a top 4 shutdown guy with limited offensive skills.

Not trying to be mean but i'm going to give you 1 star just because i don't see why they'd give up spooner and belesky to move down in the draft.

Going with a 3-star because that's a step price to get rid of Bels. I think Spooner could be a sweetener piece that helps net you a bigger player. I also think you're a touch high on Pasta, but not enough to change the grade.

ya I dont undrstand why you have to just give away spooner when you could protect him under his current RFA contract and somebody could sign him to an offer sheet and Boston would get a First and a Third.

Fair enough, I could see why you would want better value for Spooner which I'm sure he could fetch. But no team is going to be crazy enough to give a first and a third for Spooner so lets say hypothetically they give a second rd pick for Spooner. That's still roughly what it would take for a team to take on Beleskey. I imagine the way teams are viewing Beleskey right now is probably pretty similar to how teams viewed Bickell last year which, in the end, cost the Blackhawks Teuvo Teravainen. To me it simply seems like the only option to get rid of his contract and I will live with giving up Spooner, who gets close to 75% of his points off 2nd assists on the PP.
