Description
CAR trade: Bear is their 6th D (least amount of TOI of regular D). Manson provides physicality for playoffs. Similar to Fleury Hakanpaa swap, UFA for RFA. Rakell provides middle 6 depth and can play both wings for a solid prospect and pick.

AZ trade: Ducks win the arms race. Young NHL player, very good prospect, young NHL player who’s struggled but has shown flashes recently (solid reclamation project) and a first. ~3 firsts plus a solid reclamation young player.

FL trade: FL loses out on Chychun and spends less for a high end UFA.

Ducks will have ~28M to re-sign Zegras, Terry, Drysdale and fill out the roster. Henrique and Silfverberg will be easier to trade with retention with only 1 year left if needed too.

Also doesn’t have to be Forsberg but a high end top 6 winger in the 8.5M range

If Lindholm is worth a 1st and Tippet, and Chychrun is worth a 1st Comtois, Perreault, and Steel, why wouldn't Florida just outbid you for Chychrun? He's cost controlled at a really cheap deal for 3 more years and Lindholm will be looking for 6+ million I would think. Florida has Barkovs and Verhaeghe's bigger deals kicking in next year, and then has to give huge raises to Huberdeau and Weegar the next season. This just doesn't make much sense much sense for Florida IMO

Because they’ll have to give up coveted ELCs to get Chychrun. Tippett and Comtois have similar value. But the prospects FL gives up, if they’re close to NHL ready would be more valuable to them because they’re on ELCs making minimal money. FL is gone ELCs or league minimum players to keep from offloading quality players due to cap. Also Lindholm wouldn’t be signing long term in FL.

Also idk FL pipeline well but they obviously aren’t trading Lundell and trading Knight would be a mistake unless found a league minimum back up. Who is they’re high end prospect that they’d add to Tippett and the future 1st?

Even if FL get Chychrun they’ll still have lots of cap maneuvering in the offseason. Both players would give them the best Dcore in the league and bolsters they’re cup chances.

That's fair, I just think Florida would be better off adding another 1st rounder and going all in on Chychrun in my opinion. But who knows

I really really don’t like the thought of giving up Comtois

So no 1st rounders for 3 years? That’s tough when you’re up against the cap and not having any first round talents to add on ELCs. Would have to hit on a few of the picks they do have
