He had so much promise. A Calder winning rookie season and significant Norris votes in his first two seasons... oh, and also the fact that he's 6'8". Sadly, he's only been steadily declining from that point, with his prime ending at the age of 21. Crazy for a defenseman that young to have such an impact in his first few seasons but heartbreaking to see him regress so quickly. He's still received the paychecks and minutes of a 1D though, so at least he's had his share of glory throughout his career.

prime at 21 lol. Ovechkin is still in his prime🙃. But it is sad. I blame that on the sabres.
