Description
I think Florida adds around a 2nd in value here but not sure how

Basically Arizona gets their blue chip prospect but Florida also adds Kessel and gets a serviceable backup who's played well on a crap team this year. They also get to dump Hornqvist to make the cap work

So if Bob gets injured in the playoffs, Scott Wedgewood is supposed to take the Panthers to the Cup?

What an odd argument, did you see who the backup was for Tampa the last 2 years? There's even extra cap space, if you really feel like wedgewood isnt enough for an extreme circumstance then go get a better backup. When was the last time a team went into the playoffs preparing for their starter to get hurt?

I would not trade Knight. He is just 20-years-old but has shown what he is capable of. Because of a few bad games (e.g. the 8-2 blowout against the Sens) his stats look worse than he is playing. Yet, he has a .900 sv%, which ranks 40th among NHL goalies with at least 15 games played. That's okay for a backup, and Knight will get a lot better. He still has the potential to be a franchise goaltender.

I know that means the Panthers probably won't get Chychrun, but I'd be fine with that. There is plenty of fish in the sea, and Chychrun really starts to smell like overrated.

If this is the final offer from Florida, I take it. It's a fair deal. Neither side loves it, but that's how it is. Good work OP.

Im not arguing anything bad about Knight, I dont think you need to defend anything. However since you brought it up, I think a lot of people may put Chychrun under that same mircoscope. They just look at his points and +/- from this year and assume he isnt that great. In reality Arizona is legitimately that bad and his deployment kills him. He's actually been pretty solid defensively this year and sits 5th among defense in iSF/60 and 4th in iCF/60.
