Disaster on EVERY level

God that was awful. No chemistry whatsoever, no offense, no legs, the team was a disaster but the broadcast, somehow, was even worse. I know butch cant get anyones name right to save his life but jiggs was just a trainwreck. He mustve called pageau "barzal" 5 times when he drew a penalty shorthanded. Just replay after replay clearly showing his back where it says '44' and 'pageau' but all i heard is "barzal going to the net" ×5.
The coaching staff failed also. The more i watch the 3rd line the more obvious it becomes that there are serious issues with the line combos. Imo its also a really easy fix.
1st line- barzal has been doing barzal things, issue is whenever he passes it to bailey in space he either completely botches the shot, or tries to make a pass through 4 defenders. Soo why not get a guy who 1- will want to shoot it in space and 2- wont botch the shot. Enter oliver wahlstrom.
2nd line- this line has been great the past couple of years and maybe the familiarity and chemistry can get both beau and bailey going.
3rd line- watching jgp and parise its clear they want to play a hard nosed heavy style of hockey. Play good d and hound opponents. Palmieri fits this style perfectly. Bc of the way they play its not like wahlstrom ever has space to let that shot go so hes really not very useful to this line. As bad as palmieris been scoring goals (or not) hes putting in 110% every game. He also has been trying to play that same heavy style of hockey which has lead to some disjointedness with beau and brock. The roster makes sense, its just being used horribly.
Lou has made some mistakes, most notably the devon toews situation, but hes also gotten us out of cap hell, and put together a roster that should be competing for a championship. Arguably his biggest mistake was thinking that barry would actually play the youth that he left spots for. This season is on barry and barry alone. Im going to go through the 'barry roster' (what he plays) and the 'lou roster' (the one envisioned before the season).
