Trades
1.
CGY
  1. Kessel, Phil ($3,400,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Flames are projected to have 5.5 mill in cap at TDL.

If not Kessel, another reasonable rental. I don't see any of the big rentals landing in Calgary
ARI
  1. Pitlick, Tyler
  2. 2023 2nd round pick (CGY)
2.
CGY
  1. Braun, Justin ($900,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Busy schedule for the Flames to end the season. Their will be injuries. Treliving loves to add D when the Flames are in the mix, Fantenberg/Forbort/Gustafson in previous years. Maybe it's not Braun, but an affordable D would be the target.
PHI
  1. Tuulola, Eetu
  2. 2023 4th round pick (CGY)

Kessel wont waive and would not be a good fit under Sutter. Calgary should 100% be in on a big game hunting this deadline. They are one of few teams competing with the cap space

Agreed.

JT Miller is the answer for me.

Giroux would be a great fit, but I’d rather pay for Miller than Giroux.

Hertl would be a good fit, but I’d rather pay for Miller.

Scheifele probably isn’t actually available.

Who are your top targets for CGY? Treliving has to do something after losing out on Eichel, who returns to VGK’s lineup soon. CGY has the cap space, has assets to work with, has real needs, and has a great system going with Sutter. Have to add, and have to add something big.

My #1 target is Giroux. But thats because I think the price for Miller to specifically Calgary would be astronomical. Toffoli would be a good target too if we want term. Pavelski likely doesnt waive but I would be fine with him too.

I'd love Miller. It just really depends on the Flames willingness to include Pelletier+. The price would be higher for Calgary, but Miller is only signed through next year, it's not like an Eichel situation where VAN would have to worry about facing him for 4 seasons.

The biggest issue for the Flames in the top end of the rental market is the NMC/NTC's. Things are supposed to open up in Alberta soon, but right now I don't see a Hertl/Giroux/Pavelski signing off on a move to Calgary when a COL/CAR/FLA may be on the table for them

Colorado, Carolina, and Florida are all going to have an extremely difficult time fitting those players under the cap. Florida for sure since they likely want to address their blue line first
