As I said in a previous post for something similar - Leafs less. Kubalik doesn't fit in long term in Toronto and they're not giving up Robertson and a 1st for 2 guys that are gone this off-season. De Haan could be had for just a pick and they keep the rest just fine

Thats why Ritchie was taken back as cap assistance. While I agree Robertson would be beneficial due to his ELC and TOR being hard up against the cap with Campbell re-signing, I wanted to get a gauge from TOR fans feel is acceptable considering they could save some money on roster players next year and pay to rid themselves of Mrazeks deal allowing them to keep Kubalik.

Or Toronto can buy out Ritchie for only $300K next season and keep Robertson.. and thus save more room for any other signings.

Mrazek can be dealt easily regardless, that's not a concern. Robertson is highly unlikely to be moved unless it's for a guy with term and a team friendly contract. This isn't it.

Yes this is right but having the added depth for a cup run is what the contending teams need to weigh up. Robertson is unproven and a little on the small side currently for a role that TOR would have available, Kubalik on the other hand has experience and one heck of a shot.

Hasn't the league gotten over the size factor yet? .. a lot of guys are small and still good. Marner is small and still an elite player in the league. Hell the best comparison for Robertson is Brad Marchand and look how he turned out.

Robertson is fine in Toronto. He'll stay for this.
