      There isn't a single piece in that NJD deal that's of any interest to the Devils.
      If trading him to Vancouver I'd think Garland would make the most sense, though Devils would like have to add an asset (like a 2nd or a middle six winger or a B level prospect).
      I don't think Devils are giving up on Smith anytime soon, he played like a second pairing defender last season and I'm sure he'll get back to that level by next season.
