Description

They have a million in cap space before adding muzzin. This is under the assumption that he in out for the year but returns for the playoffs. I focused on players with term as that makes more sense for the leafs instead of paying high price for a rental. With the added cap the leafs will probably move out Kerfoot, maybe even Muzzin if he is healthy in the offseason. But for now I like the adds.

Toronto gets a good defensive D man who can play bottom pair and brings a similar game as Muzzin. He also is cheap and has multiple years left of his deal.

Additional Details:

Seattle gets an NHL player back who can contribute right away and is young enough where he can continue to grow. They also add another pick relatively high. Dermott is a good 3rd Pair Dman.

Additional Details:

Toronto gets a cost certain top 6 forward. Despite his size he is still a pain to play against and can score goals. The benefit of getting someone signed long term helps a lot for the future and young helps alleviate the pressure of giving up Robertson. Giving up one of Robertson/Knies becomes harder due to the unfortunate event with Amirov but due to age and contract I am ok with this.

Additional Details:

Vancouver gets a first, near NHL ready prospect and a forward that can contribute to the NHL and is still controllable. Robertson projects to be a top 6 guy and is doing well in the AHL after just coming back from injury. A first will probably be in the mid 20s so decent value and Engvall is a 25 year old Bottom 6 NHL that is on pace for 30 points in limited Ice time.

At least you didn't make another bad offer for Miller. But the Canucks still decline. Not interested in Engvall or Robertson.

Seattle gives up a defenseman who can play top 4 minutes in the play offs for a defenseman whose best position is press box at play off time, and the only thing you offer as a sweetener to the trade is a draft pick that Toronto is not even allowed to trade? This trade not very realistic.
