I’d be ok with that as a Pens fan. I think either Olofsson, P.Zacha or D.Gurianov makes sense. All 3 young RFA’s(making about the same money).

Maybe Pens add a late round pick like a 5th-6th-7th; but Kappy has better #’s than all 3 of them and was just traded for a 1st round pick(15th overall) and a “B”, “B-“ prospect just a year and a half ago.

And even though he’s in the dog house, he was still a .75 PPG last season and .5 PPG this season. And he’s playing poorly. That’s still a good “floor”. So maybe the other team adds a late round pick.

Either way, I’d be happy with any of the 3. Being they are all RFA’s and still controllable.

My thinking is at his best Olofsson is a 50+ pt guy who is your supplemental scoring on the 2nd line and power play , a position I think will be filled with Quinn and maybe later Rosen - Kapanen won't get as many pts but he's your 3rd line energy guy who's a little more versatile.

Kappy has played top 6 most of his career. Was on Geno’s line up until a week ago when he got into the dog house and Sully tried JeffCarter on Geno’s RW and 3rd line of McGinn/E-Rod/Kappy. Cause Kappy and E-Rod played awesome together at the beginning of the season too.

Kappy was already back on 2nd Line last night. Him and Geno has the assists on Ruhwedel’s goal.

Olfosson is the smallest, isn’t physical at all and isn’t a good two-way player. I would rather Kappy.

Zacha, 6’3, 210 and has 59 “hits” in 50 games this season and had 43 “hits” in 49 games last season. Good- two way player and way more versatile than all 3 other players. He can play Center.

Olofsson is 5’10, 182 and has just 4 “hits” this season in 44 games. Just 33 “hits” in his career 160 games.

Denis Gurianov is 6’3, 195. Has 46 “hits” in 46 games this season and had 63 “hits” in 55 games last season.

Kappy is 6’1, 195. Has 72 “hits” in 54 games this season and 41 “hits” in 40 games last season.

Olofsson doenst touch anyone on the ice. And the a weak 200 foot player.. No thanks. And he’s definitely not a Hextall/Burke type of player.

I’d take Zacha, D.Gurianov, Kappy, Olofsson in that order( all 3 also have 1st round pedigree. Olofsson was a 6th round pick).
