Lou loves his hockey trades

Like the Bailey deal, doesn't include buying him out & wasting 2.6 million of cap space on him for the next couple of years

Reilly, from what i'm told, is a great skater and a pretty good defenseman

Samsonov and Mantha would be a good addition to the Islanders, Bellows & Holmstrom would add Youth to the Capitals who need it just as much as us. Wouldn't mind if Varly went to Washington for Samsonov

Theres no way imo they buy out bailey. He still has value around the league.
As for the reilly trade it makes sense from both sides. The smaller dmen that dont put up a lot of points but are good skaters and sound positionally get criminally underrated. Reilly also doesnt have a clear spot moving forward in boston. This trade has been made hundreds of times for good reason.
The WSH trade was imo a help for both teams. They upgrade samsonov for varly and only spend an extra 500k. They get a bottom 6 scoring winger for likely less than 1m. They move cap out with mantha to potentially upgrade the defense. They also get a close to if not nhl ready prospect.
