Trades
1.
MTL
TOR
  1. Dvorak, Christian
Additional Details:
He is a good player but has had a really ruff year that has severly diminished his value thus I don't think he gets traded this year. He is also only a middle six center on a good team and he is a bit expensive for a middle six center.
2.
MTL
TOR
  1. Allen, Jake
Additional Details:
Goalies don't go for much so you'd probably be able to get a second for him from a desperate team but he was sold to the Habs for a 3rd and 7th which isn't much.
3.
MTL
CHI
  1. Armia, Joel
Additional Details:
He probably has negative value right now because whilel he is a pretty good bottom six forward he is just that a bottom six forward who can be very good at times but just won't live up to that contract so he'll probable end up being bough out around the 3rd or fourth year when cap space becomes a premium.
4.
MTL
MIN
  1. Drouin, Jonathan
Additional Details:
He has very low value if not any right now cause he hasn't consistenly played in a long time and he is struggling with mental and physical issues which will deter other teams which is why he won't get traded.
5.
MTL
MIN
  1. Savard, David
Additional Details:
He is not worth as much as he once was but is still pretty good but his age and contract situation will definetly lower his value in a while.
6.
MTL
MIN
  1. Hoffman, Mike
Additional Details:
You need a complete team to win a series and the Stanley cup and he will not help you their as he is a pure goal scorer that doesn't really benefit his linemates. He willl not get as much as some people think cause his contract is quite bad but that also is going to age terribly.
7.
MTL
MIN
  1. Weber, Shea
Additional Details:
No one is going to pay the Canadians to take that contract, at least not more that a 6th.

fair assement for most i would say, most valuable player are probably allen (second max like you said) and dvorak. dvorak value is a bit harder to put a finger on, he was traded for a first round pick from a desperate team, maybe from another desperate team in the same situation he would get something close to what he was traded for. im really curious what is gonna happen with drouin next year, maybe with a good season, he might fetch somthing decent (like a second rounder) at the deadline when player are worth their most. but good work!

Thx, I just wanted to say that Allen is worth less that some people think. We all know the Habs got fleaced though in that trade which is why Zona got that much so I don't think that that is a good comparable to what he is worth. Also put a terrible expectation on Dvorak to be some sort of saviour.

For Weber’s contract, you are looking at future considerations, probably from Arizona to get to the cap floor. Dvorak is hard to place, and he is a really good buy low candidate with some retention added. The same goes for Savard. With some salary retention, you might get a little, but it won’t be much. Hoffman, Drouin, and Armia are either buyout or cap dump candidates. With Hoffman, you might get something from a team with a really good power play or a team with a struggling power play. Allen probably at most gets a second and a late round pick, but it might only happen if a team is desperate.

I think how willing Montreal is to retain will influence how much they get for these players. Obviously it isn’t ideal to retain for 3+ years, but with how stacked the East is right now, what is the likelihood of the Habs making the playoffs? Slim to none for the foreseeable future. The only reason they made the playoffs last year was because the North (or the Pacific depending on your POV) was the weakest division. So retaining 50% on players like Dvorak, Savard, Allen, Petry, Gallagher, or Anderson should be top priority. The last 3 I mentioned have terrible contracts, with very few teams that would be willing to even touch them. At the very least at half retained the contracts become somewhat bearable. That is if they are moved, which is not guaranteed.
