    Why would MTL trade someone who's not currently against their cap since he's on LTIR for over 10M in cap? They're also rebuilding so why are they taking 2 vets with big contracts?

    Because trading practically nothing for guys you could retain salary on and trade at next years deadline would be a good rebuilding move, no?

    Detroit passes, Our top 9 is basically set no room for Hoffman, And Martinez isn't waiving for Montreal as all Canadian teams are on his no trade list. Martinez would come home to Detroit before waiving for Montreal.

    Dadonov, maybe since he's up next year but martinez has like 3 Years left they won't want to retain on him unless it's a drastic overpay they're receiving. MTL is close to the cap already and this takes 2 Roster spots away from young guys, not ideal for a team rebuilding.
