Description
NYI take the last wildcard spot from the lackluster Capitals

Move 1. FIRE LAV. Hire a coach the utilizes young talent. Don’t bench McM for 2 lesser talents

Move 2. Change the core. NB is now our 3c. Slow but can be a solid 200ft player. Trade Eller. Trade Carlson. Find a #1 goalie trade V V and Sammy. Start fresh.

Move 3. Lappy McMAlexeyev all in the lineup

I dont see Buffalo moving a 1st for that. They have so much Cap space, keep the first and can sign players with similar production as those 3.

That’s fair. I see Buffalo gaining a lot from Eller + V V cap hit will be low and he can play at a high level. He has solid numbers. UFA vets cost more generally imo

I like Ellers, but as you said 3rd round value. I would be all about moving a 3rd for Eller, and signing a Vet UFA goalie to split with UPL next year.

Edit: and they need a better RHD next year for the 2nd pairing than TVR
