Yeah, there aren't many teams that have the cap that could do the trade. I know so many Leaf fans will crucify me for trading Nylander for so little, but you can't look as Nylander and Mrzarek for a second.
It's for a second rounder, Campbell and getting term for Sandin and Liljegren.

This is just awful and you should stop posting it. Mrazek has a buy out of 1 million and I bet he gets moved without much trouble. GM's don't have memories as fickle as fans do. A goalie with 300 games of experience being a decent tandem goalie has some value. Even at 3.8 million for 2 years. A team that missed out on FA's will look at Mrazek as a cheap and easy acquisition. Especially one which needs cap space to reach the floor. Thinking it will cost Nylander to move Mrazek is literally insane. On top of that, what has Sandin or Liljegren done to deserve this sort of contract. You are just dumping a point a game player so you can overpay two 3rd pair defenders and then hoping a kid who hasn't been able to do anything at the NHL level (Robertson) is going to make up for the lost offence? This team would truly become a 1 line team after this mess.

Every team would be climbing all over themselves to make room for this.

I hope so as a Leaf fan. But a if a team had 11m they could sign a UFA for 11m better than Nylander and not have Mrzarek.
