Description

Trades and buyouts put the Sabres at about 81 million which includes bonuses, and 11.5 million in dead money. Accomodates three teams with cap issues. Colorado frees up 10 million and adds a 2nd. Florida frees up 8 million and adds a quality young 3rd pair D who will be inexpensive the next few seasons and has 2nd pair upside. Calgary frees up 13 million and adds a right shot 3C in Compher at 1.75 and a 2nd (yes the cost of 1sts is steep, but allows them to bring back the entire team). There shouldn't be many selections between the Flames 2023 1st and the Flyers 2023 2nd.
Hornqvist/Monahan/Lucic waive NTCs and are bought out.
Gudas re-ups, 2 years x 3.25 million.
Peterka brought up if a wing goes on IR, Eakin suits up if a C goes on IR, and/or Poturalski beats him for 13th forward spot and Eakin is buried.
8 D in Buffalo all season.
UPL stays in Rochester, called up when roster allows, maybe gets 17 games. Anderson plays around 15.

That’s pretty tempting for COL.
I’d say if they could guarantee signing Manson as EJs replacement, COL accepts. Maybe do a pick instead of Marjala (2024 CGY 3rd or any BUf 4th rd pick maybe)

I like the idea, the NTC's and the NMC's will be a pain though, you may be better served retaining and flipping to other teams who want a 3.2M monahan, or a 2.6m lucic. they arent playing up to their contracts, but not only will you get below the cap, but you'll be able to gain value from retaining on these players, you might be able to get a 1st coming in for monahan, and a 2nd going out for him as well
