Doesn't adding Monahan's money make it worthwhile? Or is his game slowing to the point where it isn't?

Toews's defensive game/faceoff game has still been very good. His offense game might've declined over the past season, but has heated up in the past 10-15 games. The thought process is that Calgary saves some money and acquires Toews, who imo is still a useful middle 6 center and will help them out next season a lot more than Monahan.

Monahan played on 1 leg the last 2 seasons and the previous 7 he was a 20+ goal scoring 1/2C. His trade value wont be good this summer but likely not negative. If he bounces back even slightly now that he's gotten his hips fixed its basically a lateral move with the cost of a 1st
