Did they say UPL would be playing in the NHL for the Sabres? it worries me that he can't get his AHL stats above .900, Dahlin can play RD but if the two d-men who both fit our need for physicality are R-handed then why not - there are a couple of big physical left-handed D-men in FA but they are both very slow.

Rochester defense and system is horrible. He has good NHL numbers. He’s definitely going to be the backup goalie next year.

UPL seems to be one of those players who looks better in the NHL than the AHL
I think we’ll give him his shot with the Sabres full time next year
*especially with Portillo & Levi not signing

I also don’t think the Sabres put much weight to the idea of signing big tough guys
So while i get that it’s your opinion that we should do that,
there isn’t really any evidence to suggest that we actually will make those kinds of moves
Plus, the Samuelsson-Dahlin pairing has looked good
So it wouldn’t seem we're going to be looking for RD as much as we all were thinking

You are probably right but I'd still pay for both those FA goalies - with the Sabre's luck one of them will be hurt after our first ten games then UPL can come up and stay up if he plays well - but I am not convinced on his durability either - Sabres played six goalies this year
