    NJD may want more assets that can help right now. I am unsure if swapping Duchene for Galchenyuk is what the Canadiens need but Bergevin may be desperate enough to do something like that.

    Transactions involving cash are illegal in the NHL. You can retain salary or move picks/players. Straight cash (under the table or otherwise) is considered circumvention of the CBA and would face harsh penalties.
