Cap: After JVR gets his signing bonus paid by Philly, he's just owed $4M in salary for 2022-23. Little is owed $4.75M of salary for 2022-23 and another $3.75M for 2023-24. That's $8.5M over 2 seasons for deadweight LTIR versus $4M over 1. That's a total savings of $4.5M for Arizona over 2 years. In cap world, JVR counts as $7M toward the floor while only costing $4M in real terms. It's definitely the kind of deal they need right now financially, especially given that they will be playing in a tiny college arena with limited gate receipts this season.

Additionally, Arizona can later flip JVR as an expiring UFA with retention at the TDL should he put up his typical goal scoring numbers, which he should given good minutes in the desert.

And don't tell me this is unrealistic after Dadonov for LTIR Weber straight up just happened.
