Description
Another Idea if the Jets don’t end up trading Schiefele. Nichushkin becomes the defensive presence on a line with two players that are all offence, also helps the penalty kill. Marino for Demelo is pretty decent swap, they both are defense first players that struggle to score. Only difference is age and Marino makes 1.4 million more than Demelo does. The Penguins could use that extra money to sign Letang. I’d personally keep Demelo because of how well he plays with Morrissey, but Marino has got a higher upside and more term on his contract. I heard he might be on his way out and I wanted to see what Penguins fans thought of this trade idea, plus I don’t know if this is fair value for him.

That’s not bad but I don’t think you can trust two rookies to immediately play big roles on the backend

I agree but we can’t keep these two in the minors forever and we need to clear up some cap space. Samberg had a good end to the season and played really well with Pionk. Heinola has been NHL ready for at least a year but he hasn’t been given a chance yet because of Stanley.
