ARI-NYI Trade

I still think trading Beauvillier for a top-4 defenseman is the right move. Chychrun is a perfect fit for Dobson and is under contract for a few years. Coyotes not only get a young top-6 forward, but a recent 1st round pick (Holmstrom) and another 1st round pick in 2023.

VGK-NYI Trade

The Golden Knights were interested in Varlamov. This gets them a starting goalie, a young forward project, and out of paying Nicolas Roy. Isles also get a backup replacement (Brossoit).

Isles sign Max Domi to a one-year prove-it deal. Domi is a perfect fit for Barzal as long as he agrees to play LW. But, if there are any injuries to the centers, he can be the first option to move there if there's flexibility to move him off the top line. I'd much rather have him on a cheap prove-it deal than sign Forsberg or Gaudreau.

doubt that’s enough for chychrun and i don’t think vegas can take on varly’s cap, even though i’d do that trade

Lehner's buyout is incredibly team-friendly. I can see them doing it if they need to.

Vegas isn't buying out Lehner, And i doubt they want a more expensive Varlamov anyways.

I’m not trading Roy for Varlamov. Even if we move on from Lehner I think Logan Thompson has earned the right to be the starter (and he’s only 750k).
