Nick Paul is not signing that contract. He will cost 3 mill +++, Lucic is most likely not waiving for ARI either.

Lucic is a caring enough guy that I think he'll either retire or accept a trade to Arizona, he knows that his time is just about up, and sunny Arizona is a good place to retire. Worst case scenario we send a first to someone to retain the majority of his salary, and he replaces Nick Paul.

I was hoping the longevity of the Nick Paul contract would suffice, but other agents like Jarnkrok, Hinostroza, Janmark or Sanford could fill that 4C spot. Alternatively we could really go all in and trade a first and two prospects for Dvorak with full salary retention, hope for an elite 4th line.

This will likely be a decision we make during the pre-season, as we see how Wolf holds up against NHLers. He's easily the best goalie in the AHL right now.
