The thing is, you are wasting cap space wityh contracts for Frost and Tippett, and you can't expect Ivan to just make the jump to backup. I would suspect they get a cheap veteran or sign Sandstrom to an identical contract as he had last year. You also don't want to carry 23 contracts if it's not necessary, and Tuomaala would most likely not be just wasting away on an NHL bench rather than getting playing time somewhere else.

Additionally, Brink isn't a fourth line player and MacEwen isn't the best face off man, it would behoove them to get someone experienced at center so he can go into the dirty areas while the C can concentrate on D/center of the ice.

if these are the only changes Fletch makes, i'll be shocked. he knows it's basically his job on the line, i don't think he's holding anything back.

Samu was just a spot filler and theres nothing wrong with 23 contracts. Could run with 22

Truthfully, watching Fed a bit overseas, I kinda expect him to split with Hart. He isnt young, he has the poise, size, and agility to make a big impact. Seemed really good on odd man rushes.

Not sure how Frost and Tippet are a waste. That 3rd line looked very good last year, both players deserve a spot on the main roster.

The team in general is much better than last year if they can stay healthy

RE: Frost & Tippett - Absolutely, i agree, they did look very good at the end of last year, however the raises you gave them are a little high in my opinion. I expect both would want nothing more than 1 or 2 year contract if they are betting on themselves, but what have they done to get 1 mil+ contracts. They really haven't done anything, i expect mild raises, if anything, keeping them both at around 850/900k.

I could see giving them bridge deals. Makes sense.
