Uhh why? We're not trading Barby for a spare Dman.

It's more for the draft pick and cap space, plus it's someone who can rotate with Bortz because I don't like him as an everyday player. He is better as a 7th D

This is not my ideal senario, just an option. Borgen is a RFA at the end of his current contract as well. Ideally, Scandella is moved for cap space and Barbie is moved at the deadline (if at all). Barbie could get a 1st plus at the deadline imo but onlly if he doesn't regress

Bortz is an everyday player. We're not wasting Barby on something we don't need. And a couple mill in cap space for one season is not much of a prize, either.

Disagree, Borgen is actually better than Bortz imo. Bortuzzo takes dumb emotional penalties and is better suited for a platoon role. And if trading Barbashev makes enough cap room for Husso while Hofer gets a little more experience in the AHL the it is worth it.

Don't you think targeting a LHD, say Soucy would be a more beneficial move? Then you have Scotty P, Bortz and Mikkola to switch in and out of 3rd paring and a guy to pair with 55....
