Description

As each day goes by it seems more and more likely that Geno/Tanger won't be returning, so working with that in mind and still trying to stay competitive for Sid's final couple of years...

Keeping Zucker for the 1 year saving an asset and leaving us plenty of $ for Jarry's new contract next year as well as Blue's.

Also plenty of money left if we are in position to benefit from a big move at the trade deadline.

Could go 250K higher on both Rakell/ Marchment if necessary.

Zucker/Boyle are for 1 year so next year we have 2 spots open for DOC, Nylander, Poulin, Hallander etc. to earn a spot, with an additional one in 2 years after Carter.

Until free agency hits Letang and Geno are still Pens. One random day we’ll wake up and think ‘damn, another day without Tang and Geno”. Then we check our social medias and see them both returning to the team.
I wouldn’t lose out hope just yet. There’s still 18 days left until free agency.

I think Lemieux and Burke are still left in charge of the ownership of the Penguins. The Fenway Sports Group I think is mostly trying to expand. So while they do have the majority ownership, Lemieux and Burke are left with the everyday ownership still

Detroit passes, Not giving up picks for a one year rental that doesn't fit our young core timeline like Brian Dumoulin. Yzerman wants top 4 LD with 2-3 years left of term. Like Marcus Petterson, Alec Martinez or Nate Schmidt.
