Sorry, not using this to dump your crappy unwanted Dman on us...not when we have both Smith and Friedman available. Nice try though.

Pens currently have 9 NHL Dmen. Even assuming Dumo is gone next year we aren't giving up a 2nd for yet another one.

Absolutely not. You don't get rid of a 27 year old winger on pace for 40 points who can play top 6 and is only making 1 million for a reclamation project. Heinen is going nowhere.

Would have no problem with that, but it'll never happen. Sully ran Pearson out of Pittsburgh once already.

Pens deal is ridiculous on multiple levels. Rust just resigned at a discount to stay in the Burgh, he's going nowhere. Carter has a full no move, doubt he's waiving for Calgary. The Pens have 9 NHL D men already(Ruh, Smith and Friedman are stuck sitting or in WBS), not trading for another one. Hex doesn't trade first rounders. And finally we have zero cap space, not retaining on anyone.

Need more than that for POJ. He's been solid and last night was the first time this season we gave up a goal with him and Rutta on the ice together, and POJ wasn't even on D. Really apparent that Dumo is toast so a deal for POJ would have to be one we couldn't refuse.

Zero chance on the Pens trade. We are 1.4 over the cap already, and have 8 NHL Dmen plus Ty Smith. No money, no need and no more trading firsts...JR is gone.

Love the optimism. I'd settle for 40-50 less goals than that and still be quite happy.

Edvinsson Plays Day 1 and Trade Deadline
Probably could happen now, but no way the Pens would give up a 2nd to lose less than 2 months of Zucker's cap at the deadline. Pretty sure the same goes for FLA and Horny.

Way too early point projections bc why not
Pretty reasonable for all. One hope is that with our top PP averaging well over a minute + per PP, maybe we will actually see Petry on the PP1 and if so I can see Geno easily breaking 30 goals being back on the half wall where he should be always.

I really hope those numbers come true, but you have 362 total goals scored or 22 more than FLA, 50 more than the Avs and 90 more than we had last year so I think you might be just a bit on the high side lol

Not a Rangers fan at all, in fact I hate them, but think you'd have to add something to that. They are fine at LD with Lindgren, Miller, Jones, Hajek and Robertson

No market for barrie
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aadoyle</b></div><div>If Edmonton moves Foegele they can keep everyone and sign McLeod to a 1.5 mill deal and carry 22 I checked and tested it on an acgm
Also Foegele really ain't difficult to move Anaheim, Arizona, Ottawa all could take him
As for penguins doubt they have any desire to move McGuinn Sullivan loves the guy and he's been a solid tanev replacement</div></div>Team above is 22 players with McLeod signed for 1.5 and has 260K space, Foegele's hit if moved is 2.75 for a total of 3. Barrie's hit is 4.5 so I don't see how that works. Where are you getting that extra 1.5 from? Either you're talking a 20 man roster or it was before Yamamoto signed.
And as for the Pens, McGinn is a decent player but we are stuck over the cap ourselves and 2.75 for a 4th liner is just a luxury we can not afford, especially when we just added Poehling and Archibald for the 4th line, not to mention having DOC and Zohorna ready. Someone has to go and it's either McGinn or Zucker who would be even harder to move.

Random thoughts
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Random2152</b></div><div>Leafs have been running 20 men for like 2 years now. Other teams have run as few as 19 (and I thought I even saw 18 once) at times. A 20 man roster is absolutely fine, especially with the Marlies in Toronto available for call-ups. They literally just walk to the next pad over in the practice rink the morning of when they need a call up. No biggie.</div></div>
That works for a few days maybe or if someone ends up on LTIR, but you have to have cap space available to call players up. Pens(JR) screwed up a couple years ago and had to finish the season with 5 Dmen because we had no space left to bring someone from WBS. Cutting it that close you risk playing games with a less than full roster. Not to mention that unless Kerfoot and Holl suddenly develop "Hossa allergies", they won't be on LTIR lol

Cap dumps cost 1rst/2nd round picks or good young players this year, and you're not getting anything back...see the Patches trade(who is way better than Lucic or Monahan). Exactly why the market is so dead and so many teams are stuck over the cap right now.

As agreed Barrie be to tricky to move rn</div></div>
Even if you could move Foegele and in the current market that will be really tough(Pens are in the same boat with McGinn), that's not enough to keep Barrie...still about 1.5 short.

Revamping updated lineup
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Haymaker26</b></div><div>As much as I want to agree with you, the guy is getting really old. Our core guys are all superstars, but Boyle was never even close to that caliber of player. I wouldn't mind him coming back, but I don't expect him to be anywhere near as effective as he was last season.
Or we could just go all in on the memes and being old and sign both him and Phil Kessel again. What could possibly go wrong?</div></div>
I have zero clue how our core being superstars relates in any way to a cheap 4th line player playing 60 games with minimal minutes for 800K??? And he is the same really old age as Carter, so I assume you expect Carter to drop off just as badly?

Why laugh at the guy who scored as many goals as Kap in 13 less games, almost 4 minutes less per game, with only 30% O-zone starts and none of which were ever with Geno? Not to mention that he was a big part of the 2nd best PK in the league before Blue broke his jaw, and all for just 800K. I hated the signing last year, and ended up eating a huge serving of crow. Boyle was an absolute steal for us.
