        JBo and Stastny have NTC that I doubt they'd waive. Plus I think MTL would look for more for Galchenyuk since he's young, team-controlled and hasn't yet reached his plateau.

        Looking at some comparable contracts, I think STL could get Parayko for 8 yrs for less than that. Maybe between $5-5.25M... just my guess, but we'll see very soon.

        I'm not a fan of signing 34-year-old Kovalchuk for that much term and I doubt he would consider STL as a good fit.

        Signing B. Smith for 5 years would block Walman and Dunn; realistically, JBo plays out his contract and those guys fill in after. If one of Walman/Dunn is ready now, it will be Gunnarsson that gets the pink slip.
