Description

Kuemper and Trocheck seem like good fits here in Washington. Caps definitely try to dump Hags expiring contract, and move Eller to make a run at Trocheck.

I don't expect Backstrom to be back this season, so getting a quality center like Trocheck seems pretty important if the Caps really want to make the playoffs and compete.

GMBM said he expects to fill the center hole left with an injured Backstrom internally, which is probably most likely, but if the Caps really want to compete they probably need a better center than what Protas or Lapierre are going to be in their rookie seasons.

I think finally moving Eller's expiring makes some sense if they think McMichael is ready to take that next step. 3C right now seems like the ideal spot for him.
