Description
I think Nill did a nice job of setting the table for the prospects we have. Marchment is ideal. Strong two way forward with size. Will be huge for getting guys like Bourque and Johnston into the mix. Miller isn’t what he used to be but he’s a solid add. Need to start letting Harley play his game. I think Esa is capable of more. Offseason hasn’t been a home run, but I like this way better than over paying a regressing almost 30 defenseman that isn’t good at defending. Unpopular opinion but oh well. Svech money for JRob. Bridge for Oetter

I wonder if we could be looking at a 2nd pair of Harley-Lindell. Lindell on his off side isn’t ideal but this was you have your 4 best defensemen in the top 4, and Harleys style may compliment Lindell. Yeah you got your RHDs on the same pair but I can’t see Hakanpaa going a full 82 games in a top 4 role. On top of that, Lindell-Hakanpaa spent some time in the playoffs together and I thought they weren’t great

Harley and Miro are fire together. I’d like to see it run like this and swap Harley and Suter mid season when Harley gets momentum going. Leave Lindell with Jani. I like Lindell’s game much more when he’s the more offensive player on the pairing. 5.8 is a lot of money to pay a guy that you ask to sit back and watch. Defend and clear. Blah blah vomit. He’s better than that and we’re paying him to be better than that. His buddy John’s shadow is gone and it’s his time to shine

I will say I am intrigued by a Harley-Heiskanen pairing. I just don’t want that to mean Heiskanen is gonna strictly be a stay at home kinda guy. Not that he automatically will be if paired with Harley but I feel like it’ll give Miro less chances to jump in a rush or pinch at a certain moment. I’d love to be proven wrong though

They didn’t have a lot of time together. It was usually the result of an incomplete change. But I feel like every time they were on the ice at the same time we had at least one high danger chance for. Neither was sitting back. I typically like complimentary pairs. One guy drives offense and transition. One guy to be physical and break up cycles. I think the NHL is moving away from that. All of these kids coming in can skate. You don’t see guys like Polak any more you see the new hybrid two way guys. It’s a get the puck move the puck league and Miro and Harley looked pretty efficient at that. I’d eventually love to see something like this if everybody works out…

Miro-Lian
Harley-Kyrou
Grush-Fegaras/White

Swap Lain and Harley if you want but if we’re building around Miro and Harley (which we are as we let Klinger walk) this is a pretty good looking six
