I'd rather have the Toffoli deal. Lindholm is better at C and we need a wing.

Umm why? You have a lot of wingers and your centre depth is weak

Carolina's center depth is not weak.

However, trading Lindholm was not a mistake. Carolina got a Norris-caliber defenseman back. That was a very fair trade. Right now, Lindholm would be nice, but he's already publicly said he'd like to play under Brind'amour. Wait until he hits free agency and gets him for free.

Everyone says this until other teams get involved. “Wait until he’s a UFA” means you are in a bidding war. Unless it’s Dubois who wants to go home you stand a real chance of losing. Does he like Rod enough to take 7-8 aav or what if another team comes in with 9-10? You lose

Yes... look at Gaudreau. Gaudreau turned down offers north of 10 million to come east. Lindholm likes the coach, Carolina has lower tax rates than a lot of states, better weather than most, he knows the organizatio and will have a sense of familiarity. Carolina can go lower than a lot of teams with that in their favor.
