Quoting: villenash
I don’t disagree— this team would probably benefit more from getting some more experience in the bottom 6 (one of the reasons I like Larsson). But if they don’t go the vet route, I wonder what you’d think of lines like:
Forsberg - Johansen - Tomasino
Tolvanen - Granlund - Duchene
Niederreiter - Glass - Jeannot
Trenin - Parssinen - Sissons (switch for L/R faceoffs)
And you can stack the top line with Duchene or swap Nino/Tolvy when needed.
I feel like we’ll just end up with Sanford replacing Jeannot on the herd line though.
I think they’re gonna have a hard time moving from
Forsberg - Joey/granny - Duchene
Nino - Joey/granny - xxxxx
Herd line
Xxx - xxxxx - xxxxx
Forsberg and Duchene have excellent chemistry and separating them might not be the best option. Nino was sold on the idea of playing on a line with granny/Joey per the presser so that glued him to the 2nd line.
Herd line was loved by Hynes but lost steam at end of season due to overuse. I think we see them together again but time on ice pulled back some.
That leaves 2rw and 4th line. I could see the possibility of Tolvanen on the 2nd line with Nino on rw. He’s played both. I also wouldn’t mind Jeannot up there with Nino as that’d be a mean and pesky line.
Forsberg - granny - Duchene (can lead offensively)
Nino - Joey - Jeannot (physical, and aggressive line)
Trenin - sissons - afanasyev/Sanford (herd 2.1)
Tolvanen - glass - Tomasino (kid line … would be pretty sheltered)
