    Additional Details:
19.35m for a total of 95 points between these two players. Not to mention there is 3 years for benn and 5 for seguin. To offload either to a rebuilding team would cost a kings ransom. If you are offloading 23% of the current cap I think it would cost a lot. The leafs gave up a first round pick to get rid of 6.5m in cap to offload marleau. Marleau put up 37 in 82 games or one point per $175k. Seguin put up 49 in 81 or $200k per point. Benn put up $205k per point. With both players being less cost efficient than marleau and having 3 and 5 years left respectively, it would cost a lot to dump them. Similar to marleau they are both near buyout proof. Benn costs against the cap 8.83m for the remaining 3 years of his contract and 1/3m for 3 after that. A seguin buyout saves the team 4.1m the first year, 2 the next, 1.9 after that, 250k and 150k the final two years. With having such minimal savings for the team if they get bought out, they are basically buyout proof. Not to mention if they get bought out, they are paid over the course of 6 and 10 years respectively with the vast majority coming in the first half of those deals. Going back to the marleau deal, it was a first for 6.5m in cap relief for a more efficient player. It was also only 6.5m for one year and not 3 and 5 so it’s a longer term investment. Both players could cost 2-3 firsts each to move. What are these assets I see being plausible for moving both (bourque, stankoven, Johnston, the next 3 firsts, or hintz) imo the most likely package for offloading the 77.5m in total dollars in total cap and 19.35m for the first 3 and 9.85m for the last 2. Tbh I think it would cost hintz, Johnston, and a first or two to offload all of this cap. Being near buyout proof and a massive deadweight hindering a teams success, it should cost all of this to offload them. Dallas management really shot themselves in the foot with these signings.

Capfriendly needs a Marleau disclaimer so he isn't used in comparisons.

Marleau had a full NMC and would only accept a trade to a team that would buy him out. He also had an over age 35 contract, meaning that if he was bought out, the full cap hit would remain on the cap. Therefore, it is not a fair comparison.

They still have value, the only hard part is their huge contracts, Benn, Saguin, Harley, 2023 1st, 2023 2nd, 2024 2nd would probably start the needle

Eh kinda is. Both are near buyout proof as well. Even if they do play they are less cost efficient than marleau was and would likely be bought out eventually.

I'd personally rather bank on both of them improving next season than selling the team's offensive core.

    They're unmovable contracts.

Looking at cost per point, they are less cost efficient than marleau. I think that’s a massive underpay tbh. They have value sure but it is depleting more and more. It will likely be higher in the last season of each of their respective deals but before that the value is still awful.
