Description
I know you probably don’t care too much as it does not pertain to your team much but I find it very interesting to see the worth of one player to the KHL. 5 years of nikishin is worth to SKA 9 assets.

To SKA- nikishin

To spartak-
50 million rubles
Svechkov
Chibrikov
Marchenko
Maltsev
Morozov
Kukshtel
Krovyakov
Sedov

Shortly after the trade was announced nikishin was extended by SKA till 2027 which as a canes fan I dislike because it means minimum 5 years till nikishin ever comes over if he ever does. The KHL rights to 4 NHLers has a chance of amounting to something because any of them go back to the KHL then it is an asset. Of those players who had KHL signing rights to, marchenko is the only one I see not going back to the KHL in the near future. Morozov, matlsev, and rubtsov I see all returning to the KHL in the near future. Chibrikov and svechkov are both 2021 draft picks, svechkov 19th OA and Chibrikov 50th OA. Both are likely rentals for Spartak as they will make the NHL jump in the coming two season. The other three players are young what looks to be career KHLers.
Nikishin was the 69th OA pick in the 2020 draft. Seeing this haul of 9 assets for him is a bittersweet feeling as a canes fan because it shows he is a super valuable player but it also greatly increases the chance he never comes to the NHL. If he does come when he is 25, he will be an immediate impact player. Canes have his signing rights indefinitely and he could wind up being a good player in the NHL if he ever does sign.

3 year extension on top of the two years remaining on his current contract.

Basically because he had decent KHL stats and if he does not get his shot at the NHL this year, I could easily see him going back to the motherland. I view him as a vadim shipochyov lite. Less of an ego but if not given his shot, I think he leaves the states for the motherland.
