    Can they retain salary on a pick by Vegas? Or would it require a workaround trade Vegas picks AHL scrub and MTL "trades" Plekanec with retained salary for Vegas to pick said scrub?

    i'm not sure if a Vegas pick can get retained but the ahl loop would work. just Vegas probably want extra cap to reach minimum
