Patrick Kane would never waive his NMC for Columbus so this trade is moot.

And there's no freaking way Columbus would get that much for just retaining $2,625,000 on Kane. Best you would get is a 3rd round pick back. Not Puljujarvi+Bourgault and a 1st and 2nd round pick. For retaining very little.

We had to give up Mateychuk, our first and Bemstrom to get Kane (chicago would prefer CBJ first over EDM, and we supplied the better prospect!! plus we retained an additional 50%)
I think that deserves some compensation.
Bean and the third for Murphy.
Nyquist to make the money work, plus he'll be a great asset to trade at the trade deadline.

Seriously.......

He’s not going to Columbus, though. They’re just laundering him on the way to Edmonton. And paying heavily for the privilege, too. Not sure what the incentive here is for Columbus, to be honest. Mateychuk > Bourgault, CBJ’s 2023 first is likely significantly better than Edmonton’s, and Bemstrom/Bean vs Murphy/Puljujarvi is a wash at best. Gotta be more incentive for a team already at the cap like Columbus (even without Texier counting against it this season) to take on money than this.

Plus he's not going to the #CBJ... Were just a trade partner so Chicago can get the assets they really want, and the Oilers can get PK at 2.6M

Murphy is better then Bean, but I get what your saying. I'm sure chicago would rather have our assets then the Oilers, i'm just not sure if the Oilers could properly compensate the CBJ for doing them that favor. That's why I wanted to just throw this out there and see if anyone had any good suggestions to balance this trade out.
