Unless Holtz has a very strong training camp I don't see him making the opening night roster. That would force Fitzy to put Zetterlund/Boqvist on waivers and they'll likely be lost for no return. IMO Holtz will be a call-up as injuries occur during the season

I don't understand why people are so low on Holtz. I think he's ready.

Agreed.

I don't think there's much else for him to learn in the AHL. He's been playing against men for 3 years now, time to get accustomed to the speed of the NHL. Worst-case, he's on the 3rd line with guys like Haula and Tatar to help him learn.

Seems possible Wood won't be ready at the start of the season. And I'd waive Mcleod/Bastian/Johnsson before Zetterlund/Boqvist if it comes to that.

Johnsson will get waived or traded, I'd bet on that. Completely agree on waiving McLeod as well. Bastian has utility, I'd scratch him but not waive him unless it comes down to him, Boqvist, or Zetterlund. I'm still salty that we let Studenic get claimed over Geertsen
