Galchenyuk reportedly had a very lively first day of camp, skating fast & playing in the top six. I was not expecting it. Ranta is waivers exempt; he can and should be sent down. That leaves Maltsev vs AG for the 13th F spot. We'll see what happens.

Take that with a SLC sized grain of salt. What A.G does in practice means nothing. He never had a problem with unsctructured/free wheeling skill, its playing the whole game he has never been able to do. Wait until he gets preseason games and has to backcheck, cover a guy or not blow his position to make a selfish play. I think he's there to motivate Meyers, Kaut and Maltsev.

Put Landeskog on LTIR and send Hunt and Ranta down to go with a 21 man roster. That way you can box off the performance bonuses by being ~$8.5m under the cap for the first 1-2 months of the season. Then when Landeskog comes back you switch it up and start prioritizing accruing cap for the TDL.

Edit: this take is wrong. LTIR contracts still count against the cap, the only difference is that you can exceed the cap by that amount.

You guys would be shooting yourselves in the foot to waive Hunt
